“Being a mother is learning about strength you did not know you had, and dealing with the fear you did not know existed.” defines ‘Self- inspection’. This painting talks about the doubts and fear of a mother, even though she is always there with her child but still there is a doubt which stays in her mind. This thought never leaves her alone and always keeps a check on her. Because of this doubt she is always inspecting her own self. That’s how she becomes a victim of her own judgment. This judging of herself adds another heavier layer of emotions on her.

‘Watching higher’ puts some light on the thought that human life is a wonderful phenomena and every relation in it has a limited shelf life. When she became a mother, her life started shaping around that small creature. The changes kept happening and she went with the flow.
This thought sprang in her mind when she saw, once a small little boy standing a bit higher up, looking down like a father and extending his hand to support those tiny tumbling feet. This gave her a realization that this is a beginning of a new cycle.
